Outdoor Learning in the Sun!
Celebrating High-Quality Outdoor Learning with Mr Lockley Across Our School
In our EYFS outdoor learning sessions with Mr Lockley, pupils have been making excellent use of their time outside, developing confidence, independence and a wide range of practical skills in a safe and purposeful environment. The photographs capture children engaging in carefully planned activities where they are using tools appropriately and responsibly, demonstrating a strong understanding of safety expectations for their age. These hands-on experiences are a vital part of our Early Years curriculum, supporting children to explore, create and problem-solve through real-life contexts.
Pupils are working collaboratively, sharing ideas and resources, and showing increasing resilience as they learn how to manage challenges and take pride in their achievements. Outdoor learning also plays a key role in developing fine and gross motor skills, as well as supporting communication and language through purposeful talk and interaction. It is clear to see the enjoyment and engagement from all children, with many showing sustained focus and curiosity throughout the sessions. This approach reflects our commitment to providing rich, meaningful learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and help every child to thrive.
