Values - Community
Children across the school explored the value of Community, learning how kindness, respect and cooperation help everyone feel that they belong and matter.
This week, we came together as a school to explore our value of Community. During a whole-school assembly, the children learned that a value is something we believe is important and helps to guide the kind of person we want to be. We also discussed how virtues are the actions, choices and habits that help us live out our values every day.
The children discovered why community is so important and reflected on the idea that everybody deserves to belong, feel valued and know that they matter. Together, we explored the virtues of kindness, friendship, respect, service and cooperation, and considered how these help to create strong and supportive communities.
Following the assembly, each class took part in activities linked to our school value. Children shared stories, reflected on what community looks like in their own lives and discussed ways they can demonstrate the virtues that help communities thrive. Through thoughtful discussions and engaging learning activities, pupils developed a deeper understanding of how they can contribute positively to our school and the wider community.
By the end of the day, children recognised that communities are strongest when everyone works together, everyone belongs and everyone matters. We are proud of the maturity and enthusiasm shown by our pupils as they continue to live out our school values each day.
