Catherine Barr - Author Visit.
We were delighted to welcome children’s author Catherine Barr to Stokesay as part of her inspiring Big Walk to Little Schools project.
Catherine led a whole-school assembly where she shared her remarkable journey of walking across the UK to connect with children and promote a love of reading, nature and the environment. Pupils were captivated by her stories, her books and the real-life experiences behind them, with clear links to our curriculum and values around responsibility and community. The session sparked genuine curiosity, particularly around the natural world and how small actions can make a difference. Following the assembly, Catherine generously stayed after school to meet families and complete a book signing, giving pupils the opportunity to talk to a real author and further deepen their enthusiasm for reading.
