Stokesay Primary School is committed to creating a culture of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of our children and families. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding is woven into our daily school life, with all staff regularly trained and updated in ways we can best ensure the protection of our children and families.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's safety.

Partnership Working: Operation Encompass
We are proud to be an 'Operation Encompass' school; a police-led initiative to support children who may have witnessed or been affected by domestic abuse.
We actively support the government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism, and promote British Values across our curriculum.

Sex Education
Children learn about sex and relationships education both as part of the UKS2 Science Curriculum and through the PSHE/ RSE curriculum, in line with the Government's statutory RSE guidance.
Pupil Absence
We believe it is vitally important that children attend school promptly and that absence is kept to an absolute minimum. There is a strong correlation between high attendance at school and excellent performance and progress. The school day begins promptly at 8.45am. If for exceptional reasons you need to request leave from school during term time please complete an application form available from the school office. If your child is unwell please telephone the school early in the day. All absence from school will be followed up.
