Pastoral Lead
At Stokesay we are very lucky to have our Pastoral Manager: Susan Austin.
Susan works with a variety of children who need a little extra support. There are a number of interventions that Susan provides such as
- “Reach for the Top” (for low self esteem)
- “Anger Management” (for managing behaviour)
- “No worries” (for children who are anxious)
- “Think bricks” (Lego therapy)
Susan can also offer counselling skills, help with loss and bereavement, advice on self harm, mental health first aid and is the school Senior Mental Health Lead.
Children have access and a room to speak with Susan and can work 1:1 or in groups if they prefer. Susan can refer to the School Nurse, Debt advisory agencies, Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service, GP and works closely with charities and the local food bank.
The offer of Early Help can be signposted through school for families facing difficult personal circumstances. Early Help covers a variety of issues such as housing, finance, mental health, anti social behaviour, parenting problems, personal circumstances. Early Help is non judgemental and is put in place to avoid the escalation of situations. If you would like to contact Shropshire Early Help direct the number is 0345 678 9021.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8.30am – 4.30pm
