Welcome to Stokesay Primary School

The children have been learning how to write instructions and explanations.

To end the unit we wrote our own instructions:

'How to Steal Christmas!'

Here is Brody, Sara and Charlie's work. Well done 🎄

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time at Telford Dry Ski Slope for the last day of Autumn term 1.

The children had an hours lesson of skiing. The instructors commented on how well all the children did and how much progress they made within the hour. Not too many of us fell over.

In the afternoon, after lunch, we got to do tubing! This was sitting in a rubber ring and sliding from the top of the slope all the way down to the bottom.

A great day was had by all.

Parent Workshop

We had a very successful parent workshop with the children focusing on a growth mindset escape room challenge. The children (with the parents help) were challenged to do problem solving activities to encourage the idea of “not giving up!Throughout the tasks they were able to complete a range of codes and secret combinations to escape the workshop.

Topic Day

We had lots of fun dressing up for our first topic ‘Life in the Alps.’ The children had to build and look at the different countries the Alps run through and develop their own model in groups, using lots of paper and mod rock. In the afternoon, we then went off to the Discovery centre to develop some fundamental orienteering skills and learnt the different compass points in a fun game.
