Welcome to Stokesay Primary School

Summer 25.

Ever wondered how hard it is to survive in the desert? On our topic day, we explored what life is really like in this extreme environment.

We began by painting striking desert silhouettes to capture the mood of a desert evening. Then we headed outside, where we got active in the playground—experiencing what it might be like for desert wildlife trying to cross the hot, hostile terrain.

These exciting activities helped spark our curiosity and set the scene for our learning this term.

Our trip to the safari park was an unforgettable adventure that brought our learning to life!

We discovered more about animals and their habitats, including some amazing creatures that are specially adapted to survive in the harsh desert environment.

As part of our day, we also stepped into the shoes of archaeologists—carefully uncovering hidden treasures from the past. To top it all off, we had a thrilling (and slightly scary!) encounter with a life-sized dinosaur. It was a fantastic experience that sparked our curiosity and deepened our understanding of the natural world.
