Year 4/5 got to finally open up their mummified tomatoes. As part of our Egyptians in spring term we mummified tomatoes to show the process of mummification.
When the children opened up the tomatoes they could see how they had changed. We used our writing to describe the details about the changes that could be seen.
This term we are exploring the Ancient Maya Civilisation.
On our Topic day there were some excellent dress up costumes and ideas from an explorer to a butterfly.
The children got hands on investigating some Maya artefacts, finding out what they were made from and what they were used for. They also delved into the importance of the Mayan Gods and Mayan masks before getting the chance to design their own masks.
This knowledge and inspiration will carry on into their learning as we find out more about the ancient civilisation though out the term.
