Power Buggies in Action!

Our Year 4/5 class had an electrifying day out at Enginuity, where they put their science skills to the test by designing, building, and racing their very own "power buggies" down the dragstrip!

The trip linked perfectly with our science topic of electricity and building circuits, giving the children a chance to apply their knowledge in a hands-on and exciting way. Working in teams, they demonstrated fantastic creativity and problem-solving as they designed their buggies, wired circuits, and tested their designs.

The children truly demonstrated our school values of teamwork and determination, collaborating brilliantly to overcome challenges and fine-tune their creations. The highlight of the day was watching the buggies zoom down the dragstrip, with plenty of cheering and encouragement all the way.

This term, our art lessons have been all about creativity and exploration as the children delved into the world of 3D Mega Materials. From wire to soap, the children experimented with a range of materials to create their own unique sculptures, showcasing their imagination and growing artistic skills.

We took inspiration from renowned artist Sokari Douglas Camp, whose incredible work influenced our own shadow sculptures. They learned how to combine materials and light to produce striking, shadowy effects, adding a whole new dimension to their creations.

It has been a wonderful opportunity for the children to express themselves through art and explore how different materials can be transformed into something extraordinary. We’re so proud of their creativity and can’t wait to see what they create next!
