Year 2 carried out a Science experiment that they had been planning which was based around their Science topic - "Minibeast Habitats"
The question that they asked was "Do woodlice prefer damp conditions?"
They had to go on a woodlice hunt and then put them safely in a container! Afterwards they prepared an experiment within a cup that had two halves - a dry one and a damp one.
After every minute they had to note how many Woodlice were on each side of the container!
After they had recorded the results they then had to make a conclusion - they all agreed that woodlice prefer damp conditions.

Year 2's visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town
Our topics this term has been all about how schools have changed over time and today let Year 2 get a little taste of what life was like in the 1900's.
The class quickly became historians for the day and the spent this trip exploring the Victorian town, visiting different shops and buildings and asking lots of inquisitive questions. We enjoyed speaking with the policeman and visiting the grocers.
After lunch, Year 2 visited the old school house to participate in a school lesson from the 1900s! We practised writing our letters on slate boards and chanted our 2 times table - things were done very differently to schools now. Lots of us agreed that we prefer to go to school nowadays.
