Our Class Information

Hi Everyone, I’m Mrs Telford but most of the children call me Mrs T. I’m very excited to be working back in year 2; this is where I began at Stokesay 16 years ago! Now I feel old! Our class is called Croft Class and Mrs Winter and Kate will be working with us too.

The doors open at 9.10am, and the register is taken as soon as we can so that we can start our learning straight away! The children usually come in by themselves, organise their own bags, coat,  etc and settle down to the morning activity. The morning activity may vary from handwriting, grammar and punctuation activity, or quiet reading.

PE, this year is on a Tuesday, however, we ask children to keep their kits in school all week as sometimes the day may change. Please make sure your child has shorts, joggers/leggings , T-shirt, hoody/ jumper and pumps/trainers for PE and please could I ask that all items are named. We will be going outside for PE whenever possible so the children will need warm clothes.  They also need their hair tied back and earrings taken out on these days or covered with tape.

The children will bring home two reading books each week. They will be given them on a Monday and we will collect them in on a Friday. These books have been allocated to the children according to what phonic level they are so they should be familiar with all the phonemes/ graphemes.

In addition to paper books the children also now have access to ‘Bug Club’ where they can read a new book each night. There are also lots of games to play which reinforce the learning. Take a look! Login details should be written in your child’s planner.

Thank you for your continued support, any questions please do come and ask (after school is always best)

Looking forward to a great year! Mrs T  :)
