Miss Pinches is the class teacher in Clee Class and Mrs Good is the teaching assistant.
In Reception children are taught through both child initiated learning and adult directed learning. Each day children are taught phonics and either Maths or Literacy. We also have activities planned to support all areas of the Early Year Curriculum. Throughout the day children can also access learning and activities both inside the classroom, our creative area and outside area.
At Stokesay we use Tapestry as our online learning platform. This is where school and home can share learning and information about the children. It is a brilliant way for us to showcase what children have been learning about both in adult directed learning and child initiated learning. It is also particularly useful as a communication tool between school and parents/carers.
Children in Reception also take part in weekly Forest School sessions on a Tuesday. During this sessions we go out fully dressed and equipped for a fun afternoon outside in our Forest School area. Some of the activities we do here range from den building, making mud pies to having campfires.
Physical development is really important so as well as children having many opportunities to play outside we also have a timetabled weekly PE slot. If you could support your child at home to dress independently then this would be a great help.
